Community Focus Program
Our Community Focus Program assists our multicultural communities and member groups to increase their potential through community development work and joint community projects.
Our Community Focus Program works with groups to build on their strengths and create new opportunities by providing information, access to community resources including events/services and funding options.
Types of community development assistance include:

We provide quality services to culturally diverse communities and encourage participation and community involvement throughout variety of projects offered by HMC.
Some of our Community Focus Programs include:
Community Shed
Our Multicultural Community Shed provides people with the opportunity to socialise with other like minded people in a “backyard shed” environment. The Shed environment also provides social interaction, health information and the opportunity to make new friends in a safe and friendly place.
Community Venue & Hall Hire
We have an auditorium and meeting room available for your community to meet, plan and run events. Our Hall is also available for hire for training seminars, small functions, meetings and events. The auditorium seats around 110 people (pre-Covid) and has modern audio visual equipment available. We also have a kitchen of commercial standard for hire.
Community Garden
We have a multicultural community garden available which provides an opportunity for our communities to grow vegetables and meet people from different cultures. Feel free to become involved.
Multicultural Education & Training
We provide training and educational services in cultural diversity as well as cultural awareness and sensitivity to business and community groups to promote harmony in the community.
Conversational English Classes
We offer Conversational English classes on a weekly basis during school term. These classes are FREE for people wanting to improve their spoken English in a relaxed and friendly setting. These classes have not recommenced post-Covid, stay tuned for updates.
Bus Transport
Our small fleet of 10-20 seat mini buses provides individualised transport to and from our Health & Wellness Centres and for excursions to various destinations across the Hunter, Port Stephens and Central Coast. Clients are asked to make a small contribution to both food and transport services.
