Janina Sulikowski

Janina is the current President of the Polish Association of Newcastle and is the Vice President of Tinonee Gardens the Multicultural Village.

Her background is in education where she was a teacher, high school principal and a Director of Education in the NSW Department of Education. She was instrumental in establishing the first plan for Multicultural Education in the Hunter and helped set up the Community Languages School.

Having started life in Newcastle in Greta Migrant Cam she was on the committee that put together the first Greta Camp Re-union in 1988 which attracted thousands of past residents and visitors. She is committed to supporting and promoting multiculturalism across the Hunter.
